The College Programming Board (CPB) was founded and established at the beginning of the 2011-2012 academic year. The Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Student Activities was urged by the Board of Trustees to get more input from CMC students. In response, a student programming board was created that would not only come up with ideas, but also plan and execute them. The structure of the board contained three committees: on-campus programs, off-campus programs, and events/concerts.
During the summer of 2014 CPB members and a new advisor worked to refine the structure and plan events for the 2014-2015 academic year. The goal was to broaden the scope, inviting more representation and events that would be of interest to students. It was at this point CPB got off the ground again and began making a mark on CMC.
Over the past seven years, CPB has become a force on campus, with 21 members of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, and a slew of committees. All members of CPB are committed to the mission and vision of CPB and give freely of their time to create a vibrant community. Get to know our current members on the Meet the Team page and at our many events happening every week!
The mission of CPB shall be to create, organize, and implement inclusive programs for the students of Claremont McKenna College.
CPB is a campus organization that seeks to instill a sense of belonging and community for all CMC students. We will achieve this by planning inclusive, diverse, and engaging events open to the whole student body.
